FAQ's
Will Australian employees continue to secure project positions and career opportunities ahead of STRABAG employees looking to head to Australia should they take ownership?
Our priority is to ensure our Australian staff are given ongoing positions and career opportunities. As we are still in negotiations, we don’t have further details on how arrangements for staff movements will be approached, however we know our business needs people with local knowledge and experience. Where we see STRABAG providing resources is in new areas of capability where Georgiou currently does not have experience or specialist resources.
Do I still work for Georgiou? Or do I now work for STRABAG?
You will continue to work for Georgiou and your employer remains Georgiou Group Pty Ltd. The change will be that Georgiou is now be part of the STRABAG group.
Will the new ownership affect our compensation and benefits?
Georgiou’s management knows best what works in Australia and will keep compensation and benefits to fit the Australian environment and legislation.
Will there be any changes to our working hours or schedules? Will I be expected to work to fit international time zones?
STRABAG is a global business and is accustomed to working internationally. For some people in Business Service roles (e.g. administration, accounts, finance, communications, human resources, IT) flexibility to accommodate time differences would be welcome and may be required from time-to-time. We will provide tools to assist you in managing time zones effectively.
For project-based staff, we do not anticipate any changes to working hours or schedules.
Will there be changes to office locations or facilities?
